We're an unpaid collective of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans working to archive TMNT fandom content from various unstable websites before the modern web deletes or damages our fandom history beyond retrieval.
Our first Turtle Rescue Mission is to preserve TMNT fandom materials from across known TMNT fan creator LiveJournal accounts and TMNT communities. Once we collect TMNT fandom LiveJournal posts, they will be reposted here as static pdf files in a searchable table with full credit to original posters and creators. We will provide the original URLs for all materials, but we do anticipate that those URLs will become inactive within the next few years. Our static PDFs will remain even after access to the original websites fails. We will submit this page to the Internet Archive to back up a full copy of our TMNT LiveJournal fandom history.
But what if I do not want one or more of my TMNT fanworks reposted in this archive?
Original authors, artists, and source accounts will be able to request the removal of their own materials from our final, public collection. When we have posted our efforts, a contact form for removal will accompany the archive.
But even before that! Our team of Fandom Archivists are still in the collection phase. We are only archiving the TMNT fanworks from personal Livejournal blogs. No personal posts from an individual's blog will be collected. For added peace of mind, original posters can adjust the privacy settings on any TMNT LiveJournal post they would like to hide--in their own LJ blog or in a TMNT LJ community--and no one will be able to archive it.
Original creators and posters can also reach out to confirm whether their materials were already gathered by commenting in a special removal request post we will add to the Turtle Rescue Community while the collection effort is underway.
